We’re living in a time when technology is reshaping the way we learn. Our goal is to harness the power of AI and other cutting-edge advancements to make learning amazing for everyone, everywhere.

We started in March 2023 and are in the early days of developing ideas. We are building a direct-to-learner product. Our current offering is a personalized AI learning app primarily for high-school and college students, but our vision is to use AI to make learning accessible, personalized, fun, engaging and inspiring for all.

We’re asking questions like: Can AI make personalized tutoring accessible to everyone, everywhere? Can learning be engaging and fun? Can we tailor education to each individual? Can we bring the best of education from amazing educators and learning science to everyone? Students are using ChatGPT creatively, and we’re interested in how we can we allow them to use similar technology to learn?

Founding ML Researcher

Description: Develop and experiment with ML models to accelerate human learning

Locations: Hybrid work, New York City or Pittsburgh

Compensation Range: $165k to $200k salary and 0.2% to 0.8% equity. Value in range will be determined by level of experience. (Compensation range set competitively with FAANG companies based on the NYC market)

Key Responsibilities: We’re looking for a talented Machine Learning Researcher to join our team. You will work closely with our experienced ML research, engineering, and product teams to design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms and models that power our intelligent education solutions.

You’ll also have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge problems in language understanding and deep learning applied to the complex and important field of education.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and development in natural language understanding, machine learning, deep learning, and related fields to solve problems related to education

  • Collaborate with senior researchers and product team members to develop and deploy machine learning models and algorithms

  • Explore and experiment with new approaches to solving problems in the field of education using machine learning

  • Apply education learning theory to increase the effectiveness of the platform

  • Analyze and interpret data to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Participate in team meetings and share progress and findings with colleagues

  • Stay up to date with the latest research in machine learning, deep learning, and related fields

Qualifications:

  • PhD in computer science, machine learning, AI, or a related field

  • Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and practical experience with machine learning techniques such as modern natural language understanding, supervised, semi-supervised, and unsupervised learning, etc.

  • Proficiency in Python

  • Experience with machine learning libraries such as PyTorch

  • Familiarity with applying natural language understanding, computer vision, or other machine learning approaches to education is a plus.

  • Enjoys working collaboratively in a team environment

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
