Privacy Policy

This policy adapted from the Automattic privacy policy and is available under a Creative Commons Sharealike license. It is Code & Supply's policy to respect the privacy of any information we may collect.

TL;DR: We ask only for the minimum data necessary to act on your request. We use what data we collect from you only for the purpose for which it was collected.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Code & Supply collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Code & Supply's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Code & Supply's visitors use its website. From time to time, Code & Supply may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Code & Supply does not collect Internet Protocol (IP) addresses directly, but may use analytics software that does. This information will be bound to the privacy policies of those analytics services.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to Code & Supply's websites choose to interact with Code & Supply in ways that require Code & Supply to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Code & Supply gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. In each case, Code & Supply collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with Code & Supply. Code & Supply does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. Visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Aggregated Statistics

Code & Supply may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. Code & Supply may display the aggregated and anonymized information publicly or provide it to others. Code & Supply does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Protection and Use of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

Code & Supply discloses personally-identifying and potentially personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, vendors, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Code & Supply's behalf or to provide services available at Code & Supply's websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, vendors, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Code & Supply's websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them.

Code & Supply will not rent or sell personally-identifying and potentially personally-identifying information to anyone other than to its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations, as described above. Code & Supply discloses personally-identifying and potentially personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when Code & Supply believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Code & Supply, third parties or the public at large.

If you are a registered user of an Code & Supply website and you have supplied your email address, and you have opted in to marketing messages, Code & Supply may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, to solicit your feedback, or to inform you of Code & Supply products and events.

Code & Supply takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of personally-identifying and potentially personally-identifying information.

Use of electronic event access tools for attendee credentials

We process personally-identifying information including event access data – information such as unique IDs and similar data collected or derived from the use of tickets or RFID-enabled products such as wristbands, RFID readers, or similar future technologies we may implement – as necessary to grant you access to a Code & Supply event or spaces and provide the services you have purchased.

Event credentials, such as an attendee wristband, may contain an RFID-readable storage system store and provide only a unique identifier assigned to the credential. That identifier is meaningful only to Code & Supply. To associate this identifier to a person requires access to secured Code & Supply internal systems. The credential may feature a short code on the exterior: this code is used for associating the credential with your event profile and is not accessible even to you as a part of your event profile once associated.

When scanning the event credential, the RFID reader signals to the user the status of the scan and then logs the identifier with a timestamp. The user of the scanner then uses this status information to provide services you have purchased, including, but not limited to access to exclusive event areas associated with your ticket level or sharing your event profile information with sponsors when you have opted-into this service. The sponsor event profile sharing service is double opt-in: once when explicitly enabling sharing via your event profile and again when consenting to a credential scan. Scanning an attendee's credential using a Code & Supply-provided reader from any distance without that attendee's affirmative consent is a violation of the Code & Supply Conduct Policy.

Code & Supply takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of personally-identifying and potentially personally-identifying information.
