Title: Sr. Software Engineer II

Essential Functions:

  • Implements software applications to meet business requirements
  • Integrates new solutions with existing applications
  • Modifies existing applications to meet changing requirements
  • Functions as a member of a product team, attending regular scrum ceremonies and working within the context of user stories
  • Maintains proficiency in software development and architecture best practices
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.


Desired but not required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as an individual contributor on software development projects and/or teams including three (3) years of experience with .NET.

Team Role Description:

This position will be an individual contributor software developer in a growing custom software development group currently consisting of 10 developers. This team is currently divided into 2-3 product teams, each with a product owner and scrum master. These product teams work in a defined portion of the enterprise but collectively have a great deal of flexibility to attack high-value problems.

We’re looking for people who can work independently with a high level of personal accountability but who can also fit into the team culture, contribute to group discussions, and help other developers when needed.

We’re looking for people who have skills that match at least a portion of our existing stack (.NET, Angular, Azure, SQL or Cosmos) and who have at least one skill that doesn’t already exist on the team (possibilities for this unique and/or desired skill are listed in the “Preferred” section below).

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

5 years of development experience 3 years of experience using an object-oriented high-level language (C# and .NET strongly preferred) 3 years of experience using MVC (.NET MVC strongly preferred) 3 years of experience with front-end JavaScript-based technologies such as Angular, React, jQuery, or Knockout (Angular preferred) Experience with relational database management systems such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, MySql Experience with data modeling and architecture for application development Experience with creating and consuming REST APIs Experience designing systems using OOP best practices Strong knowledge of a wide range of cloud services and solutions such as Microsoft Azure Working knowledge of DevOps practices like continuous integration and deployment pipelines Working knowledge of git version control

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

These skills are NOT all required, but a successful applicant will have at least one or two of them.

Strong interpersonal skills enabling the candidate to grow into a leadership role for a portion of the team Expert experience in DevOps, especially within Microsoft Azure Azure Portal and Resource Management via ARM Templates Azure DevOps Build/Release Deployments Expert experience in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager A working knowledge of and practical experience in a high-parallelism engine like Spark (in Java, python, or Scala)

Work Location:

Occasionally onsite, driven primarily by company and department reasons
Work is fully location independent
Work is primarily performed independently and when collaboration is needed it can be done effectively virtually
