Carnegie Learning has deep roots in research and advanced technologies, and we are accelerating our efforts to lead in the emerging field of learning engineering, which uses careful measurement and testing to improve the efficacy of our products and services. This research engineer position will help refine and improve the user experience in our open-source A/B testing system known as UpGrade.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE

  • Work with an interdisciplinary team to design user interfaces and workflows to support new experimental designs
  • Design, implement, and document new UpGrade functionality
  • Implement and present new interface designs to the team
  • Assist in creating user onboarding processes and demonstration systems

WHAT SHOULD BE IN YOUR BACKPACK

  • 3+ years of Javascript and/or Typescript experience
  • 3+ years experience developing applications with Angular
  • Outstanding user interface design skills
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience contributing to a large, diverse codebase
  • Ability to work with a diverse team, including instructional designers, researchers and software developers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering related field Nice to have
  • Knowledge of A/B testing, experimental design and/or methodology
  • Experience contributing to and/or managing open source projects
