The Role

SetSail is in search of a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a curious nature and a pragmatic approach to handling complexity to join our Computing and Networking Services team. SRE’s will partner with our engineering and data science teams to help them build, run, and operate their services safely and quickly. This role has a large opportunity to shape our SRE practices and will have a direct impact on the future of engineering at SetSail.

Responsibilities

Offload specialized knowledge (deployment, monitoring, logging, etc.) for other teams through tool creation, process automation, and documentation Grow and maintain the infrastructure for our platform built on AWS with Infrastructure-As-Code practices Advocate for Security, Reliability, and Resiliency with partner teams during their design and implementation phases

Qualifications

Required: 5 years of experience in an SRE or similar role managing cloud-based infrastructure /and/ creating tooling with and for development teams Required: Able to work with a low amount of direct supervision Preferred: Prior experience with small scale leadership (mentoring, tech lead/team lead, developer advocacy)
