Marinus Analytics is a woman-owned social impact SaaS company founded in 2014 out of The Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. We investigate how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can turn big data online into actionable intelligence. The AI solutions we deploy help public safety and human services agencies identify and combat human trafficking, and they enable government social services agencies to better serve their communities. Our solutions empower data-driven, people-centric responses in the modern age.

We are based in the North Side of Pittsburgh. Although we are extremely passionate about socially impactful work, we also enjoy the occasional happy hour with the team and our collaborators.

Marinus Analytics is looking for a Product Analyst to join our team and serve as the glue between our customer and engineering teams and support the full life cycle for production deployment. The Product Analyst will help our team build and test the right products and features for our customers and improve our team’s ability to scale the product release schedule. We are seeking an individual passionate about making a social impact through their contributions, and who has experience or desire to work with the public sector.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: Work with our customer outreach team to coordinate new feature requests, client usage data, and design tests for upgrades and additional features to our software

Translate end user issues to user stories

Prioritize business needs for product enhancements and incorporate into software development priorities and product roadmap

Document workflows and wireframes that will be used to support UI/UX design and development

Work with engineering team to QA test new features based on required customer outcomes and communicate internally on product enhancement schedule

Manage the lifecycle of enhancements and bugs from requirements to production

Analyze data and provide feedback

REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong organization, documentation, change management and project management skills

Excellent communicator; must be able to translate between customer and engineering teams

Proactive work ethic, desire to challenge the status quo, and strong focus on the voice of the customer

Great at managing time and juggling competing priorities

Experience working in the public sector or human services preferred

Creative problem solver. Must have desire to independently identify and tackle challenges

Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment

Experience with data and knowledge of SQL (we use PostgreSQL)

Experience using JIRA and Confluence and product analytics software (e.g. Mixpanel, Heap, Amplitude) is a plus
