Akka Mahadevi Caves are located in Srirasailam and was built by a Buddhist monk in the 8th century. While they were initially used as prayer halls, they were also used as living quarters by the monks.These caves depict the stories of Buddha's life throughout its different periods which include Maitreya, Sakyamuni Buddha, and Dharmananda.The caves are now maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India and is open to public from 9 AM to 6 PM from Friday to Tuesday.
