Description

Seegrid is a spin-out from Carnegie Mellon University and uses 3D vision navigation to transform industrial vehicles into autonomous vision guided vehicles (VGVs). These operate without any fixed infrastructure in warehouses and manufacturing environments.

At Seegrid, you will work as part of a tightly knit development team to create the next generation of warehouse robots and control systems. You will work closely with customers, product management, and the rest of the engineering team to conceive, design, and implement new features, maintain existing code, and debug the complex issues that arise when robots, humans, and the unconstrained real world interact. There’s nothing like seeing your work drive around the building and in the field! This position is a key part of our engineering organization, so you must be able to communicate clearly with individuals from different backgrounds as your work progresses from design through development and testing all the way to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and improve capabilities of current sensing systems
  • Create tools to automate analysis of field performance
  • Implement proof of concept solutions
  • Implement best candidate solutions for release with the product
  • Visit customer sites to understand requirements

Requirements and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering field with 2+ years of work experience
  • Documentation of requirements, testing results and development process
  • Experience with C++ and one or more interpreted languages (e.g. Python)
  • Proficient at writing maintainable and readable code
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to occasionally travel to customer sites (warehouses and manufacturing plants)
