The Computing Services central IT department provides services that have strategic impact on university goals. The CS Gold Team within Computing Services supports Carnegie Mellon’s central physical access control systems. We are searching for an Senior Software Engineer to support multiple applications on the Windows platform. You will be involved in the design, development, deployment, configuration, testing and support of critical windows applications and related card services. We are looking for someone with in-depth knowledge of C#, .NET, PowerShell and advanced knowledge in deploying applications in a Microsoft Windows environment.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required. A degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related is preferred. A Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering is also preferred. At least minimum of four (4) years of industry experience developing and supporting in a Microsoft Windows environment is required Preferred experience with Azure, Azure DevOps and modern DevOps approaches Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency with C#, .NET and web programming Proficiency querying Oracle and SQL Server databases Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking and authentication techniques Ability to debug and troubleshoot various application, networking and integration issues Collaborating with and supporting various business partners Ability to work closely with vendors to support third party application Ability to follow proper software engineering practices such as: documentation, development of test suites, version control, project management Preferred advanced knowledge of SQL queries and various SQL reporting tools More Information
